GeekCaster Resurrection

Well, it was inevitable that this blog would lapse into silence mere months after its inception: it is, after all, the blog of an individual with serious attention problems and a complete lack of ambition.

BUT NEVER FEAR! GEEKCASTER RESURRECTION IS HERE!

I would like to kick off this new incarnation of the GeekCast with the latest in a series of humorous spoof songs that I have written (album title: "Spoof Songs I Have Written"). For the holiday season--and for the benefit of anyone who hasn't bought me a Christmas present yet--I have composed an alternate version of "Santa Baby" with a geek twist.

Yes, it's basically just a slobber-list of toys that are hot this year for the tech-y crowd, but the rhymes are pretty good, and you can hum along. Here it is, six-people-who-read-this-blog, from me to you, with love:

Santa Baby

Santa Baby, slip some gadgets under the tree for me;
I’m really jonesing for gear, Santa Baby,
So hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa Baby, a dual-core machine with a screen so big
You’ll have to turn at the door, Santa Baby,
So hurry down the chimney tonight.

Think of all the noobs I’ve dissed,
And think of all the girls that I could have kissed—
But I stayed home, exercising my dome,
And getting sore bums, sore thumbs, sore wrists (from Xbox…)

Santa Baby, I wouldn’t turn my back on a Wii—plus three (or four)
Nunchuck controllers and games, Santa Baby,
And hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa Baby, a DVR—and just for the kicks: Netflix.
I gotta see all my shows, Santa Baby,
So hurry down the chimney tonight!

Come and fill my messenger bag
With leftover Gizmodo and Engadget swag!
I really do believe in you—
Like Rudolph and Frosty,
And Fake Steve Jobs, too!

Santa Baby, just one more and I’ll leave you alone: iPhone.
I’d even go for a clone, Santa Baby,
And hurry down the chimney tonight!
Hurry down the chimney tonight!
Hurry … Tonight!

People who know the secret password can e-mail me with requests for the entire "album" (basically just a print version of all the songs); people that don't know the secret password will just have to come back here for future posts in which I highlight some (BUT NOT ALL) of the other songs.

Enjoy, peeps!

Geek out.
